My Background

Joel Schaaf | Years Of Experience

As a New York Life and Health Insurance agent, I sincerely believe that most people want to do what's right for themselves, right for their families, and right for their communities. In fact, that's one of the reasons I became a Health Insurance agent 15 years ago and joined New York Life in 2011.  After leaving college and working in the radio communications business, I wanted the opportunity to work somewhere that made it easy for other people to do what was right, and more importantly, made it easy for me to do right by them.

You can take comfort in the fact that I have been a proud resident of West Michigan for over 30 years, and therefore have a vested interest in seeing my friends and neighbors succeed. I have many of the same hopes and aspirations as my clients and am happy to share with you all the resources and information New York Life and the Affordable Care Act has to offer.

Depending on your needs, I can offer you solutions to help protect your family's lifestyle and future; or prepare for major financial events such as saving for the future with life insurance, long term care, saving for retirement, or caring for an aging relative. If you're wondering about my qualifications, you might find it reassuring to know that I am a licensed agent for Life & Health, Medicare Supplements, Disability Income and Long Term Care Insurance.  I am also reconized by the insurance companies I represent as one of the top Medicare agents in Michigan for sales. My thorough knowledgeable of the current Medicare Supplements, Medicare Advantage and Medicare Part D Drug Plans makes it easy for me to explain the complex government plans to my clients.

The Affordable Care Act has been a challenge for all of us to understand.  I pride myself as being one of the top agents in Michigan for sales, and an extensive know-how to help you navigate the Healthcare.gove website.  My mission is to make sure you select the proper health insurance plan for yourself and family, and most of all, make sure your doctor is in the network for claims to be paid.

I also hold a Securities License for selling financial products through New York Life Insurance Company.

Of course, my background isn't really the one that matters. To be the best possible agent, I've found that getting to know my clients – their hopes, dreams and goals for the future – is the most important first step. So if you're looking for someone that's ready to put their expertise and experience to work for you, please let me know.
